State of Mind Check by David Bancroft How are you feeling today? Are you watching college / pro football, ice hockey, soccer, and/or other favorite sporting events? Are you excited about Barry Bonds breaking Mark McGuire's single season homerun record? Are you watching your soap operas with the same interest intensity? Are you hugging your children more tightly? Do you scrutinize more? Are you still afraid to fly? Have you bought a gas mask lately? Are you sleeping okay? I know that the above questions will have more meaning relative to one's relationship to the September 11th tragic and hateful terrorist attacks, and are not meant to hurt anyone. They are intended to be a self-check of an individual's emotional state of mind. And I have no intention of trying to answer for anyone, especially since my own answers run an emotional roller coaster. However, having trust in the coalition of nations to do what is best for the safety of the global community, including the military action occurring in Afghanistan, should provide reassuring confidence to proceed with our "normal" lives . . . all be it with more vigilance. One more thing . . . My son, who is a Corporal in the U.S. Marines, was deployed to the Middle East last week. David Bancroft Editor-in-Chief Perspective Archive
