Time To Remember by David Bancroft While this time of year is about celebrating and bringing in a new year, it should also be spent . . . remembering our loved ones and friends who are no longer with us. I am not talking about feeling sad or sorry, but remembering what it was like sharing this time of the year with them. Remember . . . - A smile when opening a much wanted gift
- The look of delight from an unexpected gift
- A giggle
- A simple hug
- Always being there when needed
- Reading to them
- A quick kiss or hand shake of hello or thanks
- Helping in the kitchen
- Watching a sporting event
- Going shopping
- Playing a favorite card or board game
- Playing golf, tennis, or other sporting activities together
- Being watched performing on the field, court, or floor
- Proudly watching them perform
- Sitting at the dinner table on a special day
- A loving smile
- A reassuring pat
- The sound of their voice
- The smell of them as they lean against you
- Hearing I love you
So take comfort as you celebrate this time of the year with “all” your loved ones and friends . . . and have a rewarding 2002! David Bancroft Editor-in-Chief Perspective Archive
