Communicate Timely and Appropriately! by David Bancroft

After experiencing long wait and still waiting situations to hear from people on important matters has me contemplating about . . . how hard it is for some to communicate on a timely basis and appropriately.  (I am not talking about issues requiring a lawyer or other third party mediation.)

Is it that difficult to think? . . . Compose a written or verbal communication as if I was directing it to myself . . . And when would I want to know about it as the recipient?  Well, that should be a good barometer for most of us, especially if it involves an angry mood with colorful thoughts that include four letter words.  I suspect very few of us would end up communicating these thoughts beyond a few close individuals.

Unfortunately, there are those who could care less or just cannot fathom the consequences, even if they are on the righteous side.  Each of these folks has their own reasons / excuses, but more importantly recipients need to stay above the fray in response.

Then there are some who bring others into a situation while providing only part of the story.  I believe we all have experienced this type of misrepresentation; and if very unlucky, have only made it worse by jumping in when it is obvious something is amiss.

Now, that you are completely confused with my ramblings . . . kindly remind your family members, friends, and business associates to communicate timely and appropriately.

I intend to do the same with a certain Marine whose proud parents love him deeply.
