Most Happy Moment And... by David Bancroft
I thought about continuing my Reflection Perspective in last month's issue . . . but I know there are those who would rather forget 2003 for various reasons.
It was even very mixed for me with the best moment occurring when I first saw my son, the Marine, at the airport in late-July. Even though he had been back from Iraq for about two months, words cannot describe seeing your grown child in person after going through the months of worrying everyday about him being killed or wounded.
So, I will only ask you to think about your most happy / proud moment in 2003. And I hope those who experienced more sadness and/or bad . . . will have many wonderful feelings in 2004 that glimmer brightly well beyond! (The sting of what hurts can at best only be dulled, not removed.)
Moreover, I wish all those who abhor terrorism, especially those directly impacted by the tragic events of September 11, 2001, will hear in 2004 that Bin Laden no longer is a threat. Talk about a good feeling . . . and on top of Saddam's capture!
Then there are our troops (allies too) in harms way who deserve our constant prayers for doing what must be done. (Definitely, puts well meant resolutions, like losing weight, or just watching the Rose Bowl, BCS Sugar Bowl, and Super Bowl . . . in proper perspective.)
Praying you and your loved ones... have a safe, healthy, and prosperous 2004. David Bancroft Editor-in-Chief Perspective Archive Perspective Archive
