Free Will and Consequences by David Bancroft
All that is going on in the world, including within in the United States, makes me wonder how many, who truly believe in God, have yet to take a close look at their actions of free will and what the consequences of them will be. Does anyone really believe that God gave us free will without HIM being the sole decider on what crosses the line? There is no hiding from this fact . . . And one's status in life has no advantages either. Each of us is accountable for what we do during our lives, regardless of political affiliation, faith association, career level, and financial situation. Nor will self-denial be an acceptable defense of the life lived when meeting God on judgement day . . . no separation of church and state either, as HE is both! Simply put, all of us have lapses in varying degrees with one or more of the Ten Commandments (Catholic version listed below) throughout our lives . . . as sin is the very bad side of free will. (Nor are HIS tenets subject to mankind's amendment and judicial review.) - I am the LORD your God: you shall not have strange Gods before me.
- Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
- Remember to keep holy the LORD'S Day.
- Honor your father and your mother.
- You shall not kill.
- You shall not commit adultery.
- You shall not steal.
- You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
- You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.
- You shall not covet your neighbor's goods.

Of course, God is forgiving of our free will transgressions when we are honestly sorry and make amends for them. However, it is inconceivable seeing lack of sincerity in remorse and a continued pattern of transgressions to be eternally rewarded upon one's earthly death. You might even find reading "Left Behind" by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins very sobering and relative, as it is about the ultimate consequence occurring to mankind that is determined by a very specific free will choice . . . And if like me, many will probably be compelled to read the rest of the books in this faith gripping saga. (The twelfth book is scheduled for release on March 30th.) Now, if you are feeling indignant over my thoughts . . . please keep in mind that I am not judging you. I am just merely pointing out what should be obvious to you as a believer in God. I also hope those with children and grandchildren will share my poem, Free Will, with them. David Bancroft
