A Holiday Thought and Wish by David Bancroft

While my intent is still for December to be the time of positive holiday spirits and goodwill . . . recently seeing the movie, "Kingdom of Heaven", was a very sad reminder of what all occurred during the Middle Ages between faiths of God to have Jerusalem . . . and the similarity to present day killing in the "name of God".

Is it just me, who wonders about our Heavenly Father's building impatience and anger at all who believe in Him, falsely proclaiming killing other believers in His name? How does one faith of God have the right to kill those of another faith of the same God, thinking that they are absolved for doing so?

And as Christian, I find it impossible . . . that God ever said go forth and kill all others who believe in Me, but don't accept Jesus, as My Son. The same goes for the killing of Christian infidels and/or Jews in the name of Allah. (How many believers of God have already died for these similar reasons?)

I also understand that many will challenge the simplicity of my thoughts, but it doesn't change the fact that it is… common sense and being religiously honest.

Nor can we change the unthinkable actions of what took place in the Middle Ages or even over the last year. However, there must come the time when we all go forward in God's name… loving thy neighbor as thyself.

That is one of my holiday wishes! . . . Another wish is for you and your loved ones to have a safe and happy holiday season!
