Terror From The Sky, Giant Sleeps No More!

Terrorism . . . The Baby of Hatred!
By Abhijit Dharmadhikari

The evil things happened on 11th September, 2001 in New York and Washington DC were totally unexpected, unbelievable and inhuman! It has left a deep wound mark on the humanity. It was a cowardly attack of some fanatic terrorists; which has put even wild animals to shame. Apart from the tremendous loss of national wealth, thousands of innocent people lost their precious lives within no time. Except a few terror-minded fanatics, there may not have been a single sensitive person in the world who is not terribly shocked by this inhuman attack. At present the whole world is stunned by sudden horrific loss of a mass of innocent people, and mourning on their sad demise.

We Indians have been facing terrorism since last twenty years. In the process of fighting terrorism, we have lost many innocent children, common people, soldiers, social workers, and leaders. We also have lost our two respected Prime Ministers. The loss of national wealth has been innumerable.

Terrorism is not new to the world. There has been this battle between the Good and the Evil since ancient time. Evil has always tried to overpower Good. But every time Evil has failed to fulfill its ill intention, leaving itself dissatisfied. This might be the reason why it pops up again and again threatening the Good. Now the time has come for all the Good in the world to get together and make itself far bigger in quantity than the Evil . . . so that the Evil fades away out of fear. If this doesn't happen, the Evil will keep popping up again and again in future too, and one day it will completely overpower Good. Unfortunately that would be the end of humanity and consequently the world.

Today, the whole world is creeping under the shadows of the Evil - terrorism. Terrorism is the byproduct of hatred. Hatred is a unifying ill force and shows a path to the Evil, providing a reason for living (?) and fascinating people who are basically insecure, weak hearted, those who have little self-worth and lead a meaningless, mediocre life. These people cannot stand people who are strong, secured and live meaningful life. So in order to make themselves feel secure, they try to demolish people who are strong, secured and live meaningful life. The past unfortunate incidents of terrorist attacks in the world including the worst and recent in New York and Washington DC, are the living examples of this Evil trying to overpower Good, out of sheer hatred and insecurity.

In order to eradicate this Evil, we, who believe in humanity, must unite together to make the Good bigger than the Evil. Leaving aside the racism, color, religion, national borders, first we all must stand together. Though in a negative direction, the Evil is smarter than the Good. The Evil knows that the Good is weaker, not united, and so avails of the loophole.

We also need a little introspection. Frankly speaking, though not to the extreme extent of evil terrorists, individually we all have hatred feelings on subtle, human level. Don’t we? We carry hatred amongst family, neighbors, friends, neighboring countries, on petty issues of skin color, racism, wealth, belongings, national borders etc. This leaves the Good divided, separated. No wonder if the Evil takes disadvantage of this hidden loophole in disguise! We cannot ever stop this so-called Evil - terrorism until we purify ourselves individually. As Mahatma Gandhi said, “we must become the change we want to see.” Until we eradicate hatred amongst ourselves we carry on human, subtle level, how much ever we retaliate the Evil - terrorism, it is bound to raise its head again and again in the outer world.

The mass of innocent people encountered sudden death in New York and Washington DC on account of cowardly terrorism. Whether or not the government retaliates, beyond shadow of doubt the fanatic terrorists, who caused these unfortunate deaths, won't be able leave this world without being punished. They deserve the hardest possible punishment, and they are bound to get it.

What we must do is, we should not just mourn for the time being and then forget about it in the years to come. We, on individual level, must act upon it from right now. If we give a thought saying we will be strong enough to the extent that the evil runs away from us, the evil is bound to get lost. Every thought has a potential in itself to get materialized! Good or Evil! Rest is just a matter of action. United we stand, divided we fall!

Let’s offer our deepest condolences to the innocent people who lost their lives caused by terrorism.

Let’s also hope and pray that such horrific incidents never take place again anywhere in the world.
