Rain!!!
by JJ Oakley Can we talk a moment about rain? Did you ever contemplate rain, just for the sake of rain? Does it rain too much where you are or not enough?
What is too much, not enough, and according to what standard? I love the rain. It seems to give the world a good bath. People tend to stop whatever they are doing when it first starts to rain.
Did you ever notice the smell just before the rain? I wonder what that is all about too? Of course most of us know what causes rain scientifically I suppose, but basically the rain is what is the topic of discussion here.
Did you ever notice how rain seems to work its way into everything? I know it even gets into ourselves, as well.
It creates life, and words related to it, like splash, drop, puddle, pouring, wet, soaked, and onward we go. I know that rain is good for creating new words.
Rain always seems to bring about some kind of change. We have already talked about change, so I would not want to change the subject. Most of the time people talk about rain, and weather when they have nothing to talk about.
Rain is a good excuse for a lot of things. Late to work, car crashes, crops, good, bad, clean car, dirty car, good garden, too much, or dead lack it. We can always attribute something to rain.
In this writer's case . . . it would be lack of interesting information at the moment of late writer's block. So I will sign off and go outside as it is raining, and I need to move the lawn furniture. |
